Definition of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 296

Obscene acts and songs- Whoever, to the annoyance of others,-

  • (a) does any obscene act in any public place; or
  • (b) sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

  1. Hello Sir,
    Police has not taken proper actin for my complaint so through JM Court i got the order to file private complaint against the Police. Also District SP given Memo to Inspector for Explanation. So Police Officer called me for further discussion, i went to Police Station while we talking suddenly the Police officer arrested me and filed case against me under section 131, 132, 280, 296(b), 351(3) of BNS. After 10 days i got High court bail and released now. After i have to do next step in this issue? How can i overcome from this case?
